Forest of spirits

I read Thomas Transmur’s poem called, ‘overture’ before taking pictures of the trees. I got a strong impression that the trees live like humans.
The moment I saw trees in Gyerim, Gyeongju, I could only think of the poem. And that’s the reason why I took the photos of these trees.

Prelude

“Waking up is a parachute jump from dreams.
Free of the suffocating turbulence the traveller
sinks towards the green zone of morning.
Things flare up. From the viewpoint of the quivering lark
he is aware of the huge root-systems of the trees,
their swaying underground lamps. But above ground
there’s greenery-a tropical flood of it-with
lifted arms, listening to the beat of an invisible pump.
